Lacy Ford has been working with children with developmental and language delays since 1999. Her original training came from Center for Autism and Related Disorders out of California. Originally Lacy used Mass Trial format and Lovaas inspired ABA to help change lives. After being introduced to Verbal Behavior in 2001, she made a shift to learning and training in the Verbal Behavior model of ABA. Learning from Dr. Vincent Carbone and working for BIFAC, Lacy perfected her skills as a one on one therapist. Branching off on her own Lacy moved from Louisville, KY to Tampa, FL. This incredible opportunity introduced her to new therapies such as the Rapid Prompting Method, the Talk Tools Oral Motor Protocol and Kaufman Speech Apraxia program. She had the benefit of meeting the creators of these various programs directly and learning from the source. While Lacy has been explored and been taught many techniques, only evidence based practices are used with clients. All treatment is grounded in the science of Behavior Analysis.
Lacy is now back in Kentucky working to give a voice to those who don’t have one. Verbal Behavior has become one of Lacy’s great passions as she strives to continue to learn how to help all communicate to the best of their ability. Lacy has worked with children and adults that are both neurotypical and those with a variety of diagnosis including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Landau Kleffner, FG syndrome, Lennox Gastaux, chromosome deletions and children with cochlear implants. In addition to one on one therapy, Lacy has provided consultations, education and support to many other professionals and schools in the Kentuckian area and Florida. Lacy has complete her masters in Applied Behavioral Analysis in August of 2010. As of Sept 2010, Lacy is a Board Certified Behavior Analysis and has been licensed in the state of Kentucky under the State regulations.
Lacy enjoys finding good food , travel around the world and getting lost in a good book. Lacy currently lives with her dog Andi. Andi is a greyador who loves to dig and get other dogs to chase her. Lacy has loved every minute of her 21 years of dedication to behavior analysis.
